I’m beyond excited to write this review on upcoming band GUFRA. I’m sure after listening to them, you’ll be as ecstatic as I am that you found them. As we all know, Indie is my preferred genre and oh wow, do Gufra fit straight into that category or what. The band is made up of 4 members, Ste who sings and plays guitar, Jack who also plays guitar, James who’s on bass and last but by no means least, Lewis who is on drums. The band only came together around 6 months ago after school friends Lewis, Ste and James met final member Jack in college. However, the 3 friends had already been creating some music before they met Jack.
As well as being the nicest guys, they are also extremely talented. As soon as I heard the first 3 seconds of their demo ‘Feel’ I knew they were quickly going to become one of my favourite bands. The feel good indie vibes will have you dancing around your room in no time. The guys themselves said they want to “write songs that you’ll listen to whilst looking out the window of a bus, or watching a train in the distance, or thinking about someone”. The other demo they have entitled “Murky Water” is just as good. The demos are the kind of music you would want to wake up to, it’s immediate access to a great mood. When asked who the band were musically inspired by, they responded that they had been influenced by bands such as Peace, JAWS and Plaza (some other great bands that you should definitely check out).
The band are hoping to tour next year, and I for one will definitely be going, and you should to. If you see a tour date near you, definitely go. And visit their soundcloud page now, you won’t regret it. The band also have a twitter and instagram page if you want to keep up to date with their latest news and updates.
